Oak Pergola Care and Treatment

The oak pergolas shown in the photos below are all two years old, but each has been treated with different methods and products, resulting in variations in their appearance and ageing processes. One has been oiled, one has been stained and one left untreated, allowing for different levels of weathering and natural ageing. As a result, each pergola reflects its own unique progression over time, with the treated ones showing a more refined, darker patina, while untreated ones are gradually taking on a more rustic, silvery grey finish. These differences highlight how the type of treatment used can significantly influence the way the wood matures and interacts with the elements.
